Join us to virtually cross borders, connect communities, and share our dreams as we break bread together.
On Saturday, February 6, 2021, Burners Without Borders and Alight are kicking off, Pedacito de la Tierra (A Little Piece of Home), a global movement to create sustainable spaces of hope and refuge for people experiencing migration, beginning at the U.S./Mexico border.
You’re invited to virtually join our global, decentralized table alongside community members gathered in Nogales, Sonora for a meal, a film premiere, and conversation about cultivating belonging in our own homes and across borders and cultures.
Together we will:
* Share in meaningful conversation with people on their migration journey, world-renowned architect Ron Rael, and Alight collaborators.
* Cook a recipe shared from the migrant community, co-hosted by Food Educator Charles Michel – activist, innovator, and culinary artist.
* View the world premiere screening of the short film, “Pedacito de la Tierra”, inspired by the people and places at the heart of this initiative.
All are welcome – this is a family-friendly event and we encourage you to share this opportunity with your friends, families, neighbors and colleagues!
