Alight began with an emergency response on the Thai-Cambodian border in 1979, and we continue to respond in times of emergency when we can quickly mobilize teams and can contribute something to the international response that would otherwise be lacking.

Alight operates formal and non-formal education programs for children in Pakistan, Jordan, and elsewhere, and we work with adults to provide vocational and small-business training that help them build their livelihoods.
Alight partners with international and local organizations to prevent gender-based violence and to ensure survivors, their families, and their communities have the counseling, legal services, and other essential services they need.
